Guacamelee coming to PS4 & Xbox One with new content, enhanced visuals

Guacamelee Headed to Next-Gen, Features New Content

Drinkbox Studios has announced a slew of news for thirsty fans. Set for a spring 2014 launch, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Champion Edition will land on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. And more than just a port, this version of the action platformer will feature all new content and improved visuals. Plus, Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack will make its way from the Vita to consoles, and Drinkbox is working on a mobile game.

According to Drinkbox Studios' Chris McQuinn, the next generation Guacamelee will feature two brand new worlds, new enemies, a "chicken-bomb ability," and reworked visuals with enhanced particle effects. The previously Vita-exclusive Mutant Blobs Attack will launch on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, "sometime early next year."

The studio's next game is a mobile title, currently under the working title Slash. McQuinn didn't offer much in the way of specifics, but it does sound as if the game will feature some type of combat mechanic.

"Slash is exposing DrinkBox Studios to a range of new challenges," said McQuinn. "From exploring a grittier art style and more serious storytelling, to developing a compelling touch screen battle system."
